Abstract: The objective of this study is to evaluate the Early Reading First program in the public schools in Montgomery County, including the outreach to child care providers, libraries, and other community partners. Data collection involves fall and spring assessments of children, the classroom literacy and instructional activities, and children's subsequent progress in elementary school.
